📄 How to Convert a PDF to JPG or PNG Images (Every Page)
By the MZScan team · Updated 10 October 2026 · 3 min read
Sometimes you need a PDF page as a picture: to post it on social media, insert it in a presentation, send it in a chat, or upload it to a form that accepts only images. Converting a PDF to images is quick, and the right settings keep the text readable.
Common reasons to convert
- A form accepts JPG or PNG but rejects PDF.
- You want to share one page in a chat app without sending the whole file.
- You need a page as a picture inside a slide or a document.
- You want to edit a page with a photo editor, or with the PDF and image text editor.
Step-by-step
- Open PDF to Image and press Choose PDF.
- Select Normal or HD quality.
- Select JPG or PNG as the format.
- Press Create images. Every page appears as a picture.
- Download one page, or all pages together as a ZIP file.
Normal or HD?
Normal is fast and creates light files that are fine for reading on a screen and for sharing in chats. HD renders each page at a higher resolution, which is better for printing, zooming in and small text, but the files are larger and large PDFs take longer to process.
JPG or PNG?
JPG produces smaller files and suits pages with photos. PNG is the sharpest for text, tables and line art, and has no compression artefacts around letters. If the picture will be uploaded to a form with a size limit, make it a JPG and then reduce it with the image compressor.
Troubleshooting
- Password-protected PDF: remove the password first, then convert.
- Slow conversion: choose Normal quality, or convert a smaller PDF. You can cut pages first with extract and delete pages.
- Blurry text: switch to HD and PNG.
Where to use the images
- Social media and chats: a JPG of one page is quick to share and does not need a PDF viewer.
- Slides and documents: insert a page as a picture and crop to the part you need.
- Online forms: some portals accept only JPG or PNG. Convert, then reduce the size with the compressor if needed.
- Study notes: turn lecture slides into pictures you can mark up on a tablet.
Resolution and printing
Resolution describes how many pixels represent each inch of paper. A page that looks fine on a phone screen can look soft when printed, because printers need many more pixels. For printing, use HD and PNG. For screen use or messaging, Normal and JPG are enough and much lighter. If you intend to print a small detail from a page, such as a stamp or a table, HD gives you room to zoom without blur.
Keep your downloaded pages organised
The ZIP file keeps the pages together in order. After you extract it, create a folder named after the PDF and keep the page numbers in the file names. This makes it easy to find "page 7" later, or to rebuild the PDF with Image to PDF if you need to.
Privacy
Conversion happens inside your browser. Your PDF is not uploaded to any server.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert only one page?
Convert the PDF and download just the page you need, or first extract that page with PDF Tools.
Will the images keep their size?
Pages are rendered at the quality you pick. HD gives more pixels, so printing is sharper.
Is it free?
Yes. No account is needed.
