You often receive a form as a photo or a scanned PDF, with no fields you can type into. Printing it, filling it in by hand and scanning it again takes time. With the MZScan editor you can add text directly on top of the empty lines, then save the result. This guide shows how to do that neatly, and what you should never change on a form.

Open the PDF and image editor →The editor is meant for filling in blank fields on forms that are yours to complete, and for correcting your own documents. Add your details in the empty spaces. Do not change the printed wording, amounts, dates or stamps that belong to the issuer. Altering official content to deceive is prohibited, and may be a crime. Read the Terms and the editing guide.
The text tools include fonts for English, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic, so you can fill forms in those languages too.
Press Save and choose Download PDF (all pages), or save the page as PNG or JPG. Choose the quality that suits the upload: Standard for a smaller file, High or Max for sharper text. Pages you edited are saved as pictures, so the text on them cannot be selected afterwards.
On the free plan the editor shows a "mzscan.com" watermark on the page and allows 2 downloads per day. Premium removes both. If the receiver rejects a watermark, you will need Premium, or you can fill in the form by hand. Details are on the Premium page.
If the form needs a signature, create a transparent one with the signature maker, or sign the printed form by hand. Some forms need a handwritten or certified signature, so check what the receiver accepts.
Can I type into a form that is a photo?
Yes. The editor works on pictures as well as PDFs, and you place text boxes on top of the image.
Why is the saved page not selectable?
Edited pages are saved as pictures, so their text is not selectable. Untouched pages stay as they were.
Is it allowed to change the printed text of a form?
No. Only fill in the blank fields that are meant for you. Changing the issuer's text is prohibited.
Your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
