A signature saved as a PNG with a transparent background can be placed on a document without a white box around it. It is useful for letters, forms and agreements that you prepare on a computer or phone. This guide shows two ways to create one in MZScan and how to get a clean result.

Open the signature maker →A normal photo of a signature has a white or grey rectangle around it, which looks wrong when you place it over a document. A PNG with a transparent background keeps only the strokes of the signature, so it blends into the page. A transparent PNG is also very small, which helps when a portal limits the file size.
Drawing on a phone with a finger can look shaky. A stylus or a larger screen gives a more natural line.
Sign a few times and use the cleanest one.
View the PNG on a white background and on a coloured one. The edges should be smooth, with no grey haze or missing pieces. If parts of thin strokes are missing, use a thicker pen or a darker line and try again.
Insert the PNG as a picture in your word processor, presentation tool or PDF editor, then resize it and move it to the signature line. If a portal limits file size, shrink it with the image compressor. Keep the original PNG in a private folder.
Is my signature uploaded to a server?
No. The signature is created in your browser, and the image is not sent to MZScan.
Can I use a different colour?
Yes. In the draw method you can choose the colour. Dark blue or black is the most common.
Does the PNG work in Word and Google Docs?
Yes. Insert it as a picture. The transparent background will show the page behind it.
Your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
